Apple AirPods Max in a Nutshell:

Without a doubt, the Apple AirPods Max is among the top-quality headphones out there. They are convenient to use and have one of the best noise-cancellation features. But the hefty price tag, Apple-centric approach, and absence of a 3.5mm audio port might put some people, especially Android users. For those who are very particular about listening to high-quality sounds and can shell out a lot of money for it; we recommend they go for it.

Cons:

  • No 3.5mm headphone jack
  • Pricey
  • Made with Apple users in mind
  • The supplied case is useless
  • Let’s now discuss the various aspects of AirPods Max.

Build quality:

One look at the AirPods Max, and you cannot help but conclude that it is a premium product. It weighs 386 grams which is heavier than most headphones but Apple’s engineers have done well to equally distribute the weight so it won’t feel heavy over the head.

The ear cups have soft padding that sit comfortably over the years. They are easily removable and you can replace them, should the need arise. Apple has encased them with mesh padding made with a fabric that is a better conductor of sound waves, as claimed by Apple.

Another great thing about the ear cups is their depth. This depth may seem useless but it is not as it provides deep sound, supports noise isolation, and also evenly distributes the weight. It is another smart piece of engineering by Apple.

Button and Digital Crown:

The Apple Watch users would recognize the Digital Crown present on the Apple AirPods Max. It provides physical controls to skip tracks, answer calls, manipulate volume, and command Siri. It is compatible with both pressing and rotating gestures.

The button next to the Digital Crown is used to switch between Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency modes.

Pressing the Digital Crown controls volume, pressing once answers a call or plays/pauses a song, pressing twice skips ahead one track, pressing three times skips back one track, and pressing and holding activates Siri.
